Melody Currey is presently the State Representative from the 10th Assembly District to the Connecticut State House of Representatives.  Melody has given most of her adult life to community and public service in East Hartford, particularly involved with children’s issues and senior citizen issues. Throughout her service she has been a member of countless organizations in and out of the Legislature, including the Education Committee, Financial Aid Task Force, Neighborhood Revitalization, East Hartford PTOs, ChildPlan, Inc., and the East Hartford Democratic Town Committee. In recognition of her tireless efforts, Representative Currey has received awards from regional, state and local organizations such as the New England Board of Higher Education for Individual Achievement, Connecticut Police Chief’s Association and East Hartford Service to Youth Award. Melody is married to Donald and they have three children – Becky who is engaged to Eric Johansen, Jeff, and Matt, who is engaged to Danielle Foran.  On May 20, 2005, Matt and Danielle became parents to Matthew Aaron Currey, Jr., Melody and Don’s first grandchild.  Their ever faithful family dog, Deebo, rounds out the Currey household.
